The foaming of refining slag not only depends on the properties of slag, but also depends on the volume of gas. In the middle and later stage of refining, the effect of adding calcium carbide or silicon carbide to the foaming slag is poor because the oxygen in the slag has been nearly removed. In order to improve the foaming performance of the slag in the middle and later stage of the refining, the foaming agent added with limestone and a small amount of carbon powder can be used to promote the foaming of the slag by using the CO bubbles formed by the reaction of CO2 and C.
